Construction updates

The framing began on September 8 and the floor deck was to be delivered on September 13. Anyone at the cabin in the next 2 weeks will see plenty of action. We met with Skip on the 11th to finalize more 'things'. Skip still says that he thinks he will be done by Thanksgiving, we think Christmas. We picked out a natural cedar stain, indoor trim color and shingles. The water line was troublesome for our cabin , and we're still not sure of the costs on it. Enjoy the pictures.....

Updates July 27

As you can tell, lots of 'stuff' going on at the cabin. The concrete was to be poured on Monday, July 26. On the previous Saturday Doug, Judy, Randy and I picked out plumbing fixtures, decking (Evergrain brand.....a sample is on top of the fireplace), lighting fixtures (there aren't many since we are using a lot of cans), carpet (bedrooms, basement and stairs to the basement), wood floor (oak), entry tile, and bathroom tile. For the next couple of weeks there is going to be a lot of site work (grading, working on Kansas Avenue, working with drainage, septic system, etc.). Framing is schedule to start on August 16. Here is a link to the cabinets. We had picked those out a couple of weeks ago, but forgot to add to the site. http://www.aristokraft.com/styles/product_detail/?id=333

Updates on the Sleepy Seven

The purpose of this blog is to keep everyone up to date on progress of the Sleepy Seven. On July 10, Doug, Judy, Randy and I picked out interior doors, countertops for the kitchen and bathrooms, faux stone for the outside (a sample is on top of the fireplace), all appliances except for a washer and dryer, and an exterior door. Just by chance we found a dining room table with 8 chairs that we liked. It's square with 2 chairs on each side. We bought it and the firm will store it for us.

If anyone is at the Sleepy Seven, send your pics to me and I will post them on the blog.......
